On Saturday, February 24, 2024, we had the honor to start the next season of the SGH Chess Business League, an event that combines passion for chess with opportunities to build valuable business relationships. On that day, the Warsaw School of Economics became an arena of healthy competition and a meeting place for market leaders from various industries.
Opening and Welcome
The inaugural meeting began promptly at 10:00 with the opening ceremony, attended not only by league participants, but also by distinguished guests. The speakers included:

This day marked the sad anniversary of Russian aggression in Ukraine. Rector of SGH prof. Piotr Wachowiak asked those gathered to honor with a minute of silence the memory of those who died in defense of Ukraine.
The role of chess in developing strategic thinking skills and its importance in the business world was emphasized.
Competitions and Integration
After the inspiring speeches, it was time for what is most important in the SGH Chess Business League - the competition. The program on the first day included four rounds, which started at 11:00. The players, divided into teams representing various companies and institutions, competed on the chessboards, demonstrating not only their knowledge of strategy, but also their teamwork skills.
Business Lecture
A unique point of the program was Karol Nowalski's speech on "Implementing AI in business and private life", which took place at 2:00 p.m. This presentation provided valuable tips on how modern technologies can support company development and improve the quality of life.

The inauguration ended at 2:30 p.m., but this was only the beginning of the emotions associated with the spring season of the SGH Chess Business League. The first day provided an unforgettable experience, and the competitors are already looking forward to the next rounds.
